WASHINGTON (CBSDC) - The Washington Nationals have signed short stop Ian Desmond to a 2-year, $17.5 million deal, Bill Ladson of MLB.com reports.
The Nationals had a string of players still eligible for arbitration heading into Friday, but one-by-one, have knocked some of the bigger names off that list by locking them into one, to two-year deals.
Jordan Zimmermann and Drew Storen were taken care of earlier this afternoon, and last week, Stephen Strasburg was locked up on a one-year deal for the upcoming season.
The remaining Nationals players still arbitration-eligible include Tyler Clippard, Ross Ohlendorf and Wilson Ramos.
